Where Stories Take Shape.
Your story is more than a manuscript.
It is characters and histories.
Places and relationships.
Timelines, notes, secrets, maps, arcs and worlds that grow larger with every page.
Eventually, ordinary writing software starts to feel too small.
NovlHeim is being built for what comes next.
A premium, local-first writing and worldbuilding environment for novelists creating ambitious stories and the worlds behind them.
Closed Beta — Applications Open
Apply for the Closed BetaOne story. One world. One place to build it.
NovlHeim brings the parts of a complex writing project together without turning your creative work into another generic productivity dashboard.
Write and redraft your manuscript.
Build characters, places, cultures and lore.
See events across timelines and calendars.
Track arcs, relationships and the structure behind the story.
Keep the knowledge of your world close to the words that bring it to life.
All inside an immersive environment designed around fiction.
Built for worlds that have outgrown ordinary writing software.
The first NovlHeim beta is intended primarily for writers working on:
Fantasy
Science Fiction
Romantasy
Especially novels, series and shared worlds where the manuscript is only one part of keeping the story straight.
You do not need to be published.
You do need to be actively creating something real.
Bring a real story.
This is not a demo programme.
We are looking for a small group of writers willing to bring part—or all—of a genuine project into NovlHeim and use it for approximately two to three weeks.
You may be asked to:
- Import an existing manuscript.
- Bring in notes or recreate parts of your world.
- Draft or revise real prose.
- Use planning and worldbuilding tools as part of your normal workflow.
- Tell us what delights you, what frustrates you, and what makes you hesitate to trust the software.
The best feedback is not polite feedback.
It is useful feedback.
What NovlHeim Core is — and what it isn't.
AI-free.
The first version of NovlHeim does not generate your prose and does not require AI to function.
Local-first.
Your writing environment is built around work stored on your computer rather than requiring a permanent cloud connection.
Built for ownership.
Import, export, backup and recovery are core parts of the product—not afterthoughts.
Still beta software.
You may encounter bugs, unfinished edges or things that simply don't make sense yet.
That is why we need you.
A different kind of writing space.
The old stories imagined worlds connected by Yggdrasil: places, histories and lives branching outward from a common source.
A novel grows much the same way.
A blank page begins as almost nothing.
Then a person appears.
A city.
A history.
A war.
A relationship.
A world.
NovlHeim is a place for those branches to grow together.
What grows from the blank page is yours.
Who we're looking for
You may be a strong fit if you:
- are actively writing or revising a novel or series;
- work on Windows;
- use tools such as Scrivener, Word, Google Docs, Campfire, World Anvil, Novelcrafter, Plottr—or an assortment of several;
- have enough characters, lore, planning or story complexity that your current setup feels fragmented;
- are willing to use NovlHeim several times during a two-to-three-week test;
- are comfortable using a real project;
- are willing to tell us where the product fails as readily as where it succeeds;
- can join one short follow-up conversation after the test.
We are deliberately keeping the first cohort small.
Approximately 15 writers will be selected.
Apply for the Closed BetaHelp shape what NovlHeim becomes.
The purpose of this beta is not to accumulate sign-ups.
It is to learn from writers who care deeply about their stories.
If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
